Ernest Strimdimple stands 16 inches(40 cm) tall and is 12 inches(30 cm) sitting.
Ernest Strimdimple is a very friendly and jovial bear, he comes from the high Tyrol in Austria where the Strimdimples live in a den they have made under a silver birch tree. They are rarely seen, only coming out at night to raid the larders of local people, they come in through the cat flap and quickly sniff our the strudel, they can sniff strudels through doors and walls and even inside fridges. The raiding party then heads back to their lair and feast on apple strudel and schnapps, it's a happy life. Ernest is the first to head out into the world, he wants to explore, not for long just long enough to find a comfortable home with a steady supply of strudel.
Ernest Strimdimple is made from the most gorgeous, straggly mohairs, mainly a very long and curly plummy rose mohair while, his face, tummy, the fronts of his ears and the underside of his tail are a very long and twirly blond mohair. Ernest has German wool felt paw pads that compliment his mohair perfectly.
Ernest has large, beautiful hand painted slightly sparkling glass eyes (they were painted to match his mohair) with eyelids, a wonderfully embroidered nose, sewn from individual threads to match his mohair and a huge cheerful smile. He is stuffed with plastic pellets and polyester stuffing to make him a little more posable and more cuddly. As you can see in the photos Ernest likes to hide behind his fur, he believes that if he pulls the fur in front of his eyes he becomes invisible, well if he can't see you you obviously can't see him, if you notice him hiding please say "Oh, where has Ernest gone?" it would make us very happy.
Ernest Strimdimple is a whimsical bear, he has a slightly comical expression and demeanour but in the most charming way, he's a great bear to live with and we hope will always bring a smile to your face.
Ernest Strimdimple is the first of his design, he was inspired by his wonderful mohair, a shaggy, funny, slightly gangling teddy bear, we hope you like him. Probably the very first Strimdimple to be seen in the whole wide world...let's Google it and see.. yes, definitely the first.
