Winnie McInnery, a wild, quite large and characterful, one of a kind artist bear by Barbara-Ann Bears in gorgeous scraggly hand dyed mohair
Winnie McInnery stands 19 inches (48 cm) tall and is 13.5 inches (34 cm) sitting, she is quite a big bear.
Winnie McInnery is certainly a character, a large wonderful bear made from the wildest most scrumptious mohair. Despite her friendly smile and the twinkle in her eye you get the impression that you wouldn't want to cross her, well she is a bear after all and nobody in their right minds would ever want to upset a bear. For example, don't say "No" to the polite question "That plate of salmon sandwiches you made for your family looks lovely, please may I eat all of them?", do say "Yes, of course dear". Well you can always make another plate of sandwiches can't you, just remember to keep it away from Winnie. On the other hand she is fiercely loyal, she'll defend you from wolves*, tigers*, unflattering comments and sarcasm. (* please do not test this assertion. it may result in serious injury or death)
Winnie McInnery is made from a gorgeous, long, straggly mohair that Barbara has dyed in a multitude of natural colours, there are beiges and rusts, soft russets and terracotta, olive, jade and ochre . Winnie had hand-dyed velvet paw pads that compliment her mohair perfectly. She is a very well coordinated and naturally coloured bear.
Winnie McInnery has large beautiful hand painted glass eyes with hand coloured eyelids, a splendid nose (top tip: never say that she has a 'big nose') embroidered with individual threads to complement her mohair and a broad and cheerful smile. She is stuffed with plastic pellets and polyester stuffing to make her a little heavier and more cuddly, or more beautiful and impressive as we always tell her.
Winnie McInnery has the warmest and most loving of personalities. She loves a cuddle, just pick her up in your arms, sit her on your knee and she will regale you for hours with amusing tales of her previous life wandering through forests, climbing mountains and catching salmon, remember never come between a bear and her salmon...
Winnie McInnery comes from a pattern we made in the mid 90s, 'Winston McInnery' (who we still have here) who in turn took his name from a recipe for 'Winston McInnery's Salmon Surprise Pie' which in turn came from a made up tale of a lumberjack, called (you guessed it) Winston McInnery and a talking salmon... which didn't end well for the salmon.
