Lumbley is an endearingly sweet and gentle, beautifully coloured, one of a kind, mohair artist bear by Barbara-Ann Bears
Lumbley stands 10 inches/ 25 cm tall and is 7.5 inches/ 18 cm sitting, these measurements don't include his little, 1.5 inch/4 cm, mohawk.
Lumbley is a sweet and friendly teddy bear, yes, he has a mohawk that might lead some people to think that he's a dangerous punk but it was just something he asked for. "I've had an idea" he said "People might think I'm a bit boring if I'm just one colour all over, so I'd like a mohawk, not anything wild, just a little something to make me different". So that's what we did, we also gave him fluffy ears and a fluffy tail, just so people can't say he's boring.
Lumbley is mostly made from a beautiful piece of medium length, slightly distressed very pale cream mohair which has a pale tan backcloth, which in turn makes his face a warm suntanned sort of colour. As we have mentioned Lumbley has a plume of longer brown mohair along the centre of his head forming a mohawk, or a mane, and the same mohair was used for the backs of his ears and the underside of his tail. His velvet paw pads have been hand-dyed to complement his mohair.
Lumbley's beautiful eyes were hand painted to match his mohair as were his hand coloured eyelids. His nose was embroidered with individual threads to match his colouring and he has a sweet and cheerful smile. Lumbley is stuffed with plastic pellets and polyester stuffing which make him quite a little heavier, although he isn't a particularly heavy chap.
Lumbley is a calm and charming bear, a gentle soul in need of a loving home, he has a lovely warm smile and will be a great companion. He has a hopeful expression as if he is expecting someone to just run up to him and give him a big hug, he'd like that.
