Jefferson Spruce is a very shaggy, wild and wonderful, one of a kind, artist teddy bear in beautiful Tissavel faux fur & fluffy mohair by Barbara-Ann Bears
Jefferson Spruce is quite a large and heavy teddy bear, he stands 19.5 inches (50 cm) tall and is 14.5 inches (37 cm) sitting.
Jefferson Spruce is a big, heavy bear with a very dignified and relaxed manner. A gentle bear always ready for a little (or a lot of) hugging. He is a bear of the forests, where he hunts honey and pine cones, well spruce cones to be more precise. He likes to hunt things that don't move it gives him time to daydream, to think of choking traffic jams, irritable neighbours and waiting for hours on the phone while being constantly told how valuable you are, then he takes a deep breath of the forest air and has a quiet chuckle, sometimes a loud chuckle. Jefferson Spruce is a bear who enjoys the simple things in life, he'll tell you to relax when modern life gets on top of you, to sit quietly and enjoy the air.
Jefferson Spruce is mostly made from a beautiful and very dense faux fur, it was until recently a gorgeous and very warm vintage jacket, sadly (not at all sadly for us!) as its lining was wearing out it had been donated to a local charity shop where all the staff know that such jackets should be saved for 'the teddy bear lady', well they couldn't sell it to the public in that condition could they? So it was very gratefully snaffled by the teddy bear lady, it was only later that the 'Tissavel' label was found inside. Like finding gold, rare as rare hen's teeth, the Rolls Royce of faux furs, it probably dates back to the 1970s if not before and it made one 'teddy bear lady' very, very happy. It's a mixture of dark and chestnut browns, with small flashes of very pale grey and black. Jefferson's face, the fronts of his ears and the underside of his tail are made from a very long and feathery soft beige mohair which has a warm beige backcloth. Jefferson Spruce has coordinating paw pads made from pale beige German wool felt.
Jefferson Spruce has large, beautiful, hand painted glass eyes with hand coloured eyelids, he has a carefully embroidered nose that incorporates all of his colours and a sweet, thoughtful smile. He is stuffed with plastic pellets and polyester stuffing making him a little more cuddly and loveable.
Jefferson Spruce is a wonderful, big, friendly bear whose long arms are made for cuddling, a bear who needs to hug and comfort. He's equally happy to sit though, just to be there at your side while you get on with life, he'll be there when you need him... unless he's gone back to the forests looking for pine cones and wild honey.
