Matisse, a sweet and colourful, one of a kind, artist teddy bear in gorgeous hand dyed mohair by Barbara-Ann Bears
Matisse stands 16.5 inches (42 cm) tall and is 12.5 inches (32 cm) sitting.
Matisse is a splendid friendly bear of great character and charm. A bear of happy, summery colours and a love of wild overgrown gardens. He loves to hide in beds of flowers where he tries to persuade the bees to give him all their honey. Sadly the bees rarely help, he relies on 'his people' to make him honey sandwiches, he says that as he is a teddy bear he cannot be expected to make his own sandwiches and that although he is quite a large bear he is still far too small to reach the cupboards and worktops in any human kitchens.
Matisse is made from a medium length, tousled mohair that Barbara has hand dyed in a gorgeous blend of colours, there are golds and greens, blues and lilacs, cheerful oranges and pretty rosy pinks. Matisse's hand dyed velvet paw pads were dyed to compliment his mohair and do so beautifully.
Matisse has large, beautiful, hand painted, glass eyes with eyelids which together with his carefully embroidered nose were all made to incorporate the colours of his mohair and as you can see Matisse has a broad, beaming smile. Matisse is stuffed with polyester stuffing and plastic pellets which make him a little heavier and more cuddly.
Matisse is a handsome chap, yet despite his bright, cheerful colours and his broad smile there is a little sadness in him, we think it might be that he has a honey sandwich deficiency, perhaps you can help, are you a champion honey sandwich maker? It's definitely worth the effort as he will reward you with bountiful hugs and very colourful cuddles.
