Rory is one of our very old bears, he's a sweet and cuddly, traditional teddy bear made from gorgeous English mohair by Barbara Ann Bears

Rory stands about 18 inches (46cm) tall and is 14 inches (35cm) sitting.

Rory is a very old bear, he was one of our first designs going back to around 1991, Barbara had designed some very nice traditional bears and decided that she wanted to make a centre-seam bear like the old, classic Steiffs... you might notice that he isn't entirely classic or traditional, a little cheekiness and humour crept in somewhere in the process, this is where the fun started! He's still a lively and chirpy chap and he has a great sense of humour, he'll never lose his sense of humour.

Rory was very popular at the time, the bear world had seen nothing quite like him, we made him in several different mohairs and beige was the most popular. We think he dates back to the early 1990s, back in the early days when we were young, fit and beautiful, when one of us had brown hair and the other had hair...where did it all go?

Rory is made from a beautiful, distressed, honey blond English mohair, we used to love using English mohair, it had such a strong texture, it was made using looms dating back to the early 1900s, since the birth of the teddy bear, sadly the mill that wove the mohair closed long ago and 'they don't make it like that any more' . Rory has beige leather paw pads and black, glass, spherical eyes, these catch the light from any angle so he always has a cheeky twinkle in his eye. Rory has a marvellous nose and a cheeky smile.

Rory is quite firmly stuffed with polyester stuffing and like all our bears he is 5-way jointed.

We hope you like Rory, he's a happy chap made to bring smiles to faces, he's one of our originals, a bear from the last millennium, from the days before personal computers, iPhones and Facebook, a simple bear from simpler times, we hope you like him.

As with all our bears Rory is not a toy, he is an adult collectible and unsuitable for children under 14.
