Hank PRINTED jointed mohair teddy bear sewing pattern to make a quirky Barbara-Ann Bear, with a long nose, big belly, long hands and feet.
THIS IS THE PRINTED VERSION OF THE HANK TEDDY BEAR PATTERN WHICH WE WILL POST TO YOU.
The Hank Teddy Bear pattern makes a curious, old-fashioned Barbara-Ann Bear, with a long nose, big belly and long hands and feet. Hank is about 15 inches (38cm) tall.
We've used this pattern to make bears in a variety of mohairs ranging from 3mm vintage mohair to 25mm sparse. Hank is a different take on an old style, traditional bear, fortunately his exaggerated proportions don't make him any more difficult to make. The pieces fit together easily, there are no darts and no need to gather pieces in order to make them fit. He's a bear you can make in a comfortable chair while watching TV and suitable for sewing by hand or machine.
We originally designed Hank as a clown as you can see in the final photo, we don't include any instructions for this (we just made it up as we went along) but we thought you might like to see the photo as it might inspire you.
The pattern includes all the instructions you need to make your bear with some diagrams for the more difficult parts. The pattern is on 2 x A3 sheets and is full sized.
You'll need a 1/4 metre (50cm x 70cm) of mohair, paw pad material (20x25cm), 9mm shoe button or black glass eyes, or 11mm coloured glass eyes and 1 x 30mm and 4x 45mm joints. We use plastic pellets in the feet, hands, ankles, wrists and tummy to make him a little saggier and cuddly.
If you need any of the items necessary to make your bear, mohair, wool felt, eyes, sewing thread, strong button thread, bear making tools, polyester stuffing or plastic pellets, please contact us and we can supply what you need, you'll just need to pay for them separately.
Please note that the completed bear is not a toy and is unsuitable for children under the age of 14, it is a collector's bear.
