Fergal Findhorn is a very shaggy and wonderful, one of a kind, artist teddy bear in gorgeous faux fur & fluffy mohair by Barbara-Ann Bears.
Fergal Findhorn is a large and heavy teddy bear, he stands 23 inches (59 cm) tall and is 17 inches (43 cm) sitting.
Fergal Findhorn is a big, heavy bear with a very dignified and relaxed manner. Fergal is a bear of the deepest, darkest forests and like all his ancestors he roams the forests in search of discarded horns and antlers. He likes the horns of red deer the most, they are strong and sharp, long enough to reach any spot on his back and great for a good scratch. He's a popular bear in the forest bear community, his friends will trade honey and salmon for a good back scratching horn, so it's a worthwhile pursuit and of course it's how his family came by its name. So if you want to make Fergal happy and don't have any antlers to hand he would love you to scratch his back and maybe one day he'll scratch yours.
Fergal Findhorn is mostly made from a very long, shaggy and dense mid brown faux fur which is subtly flecked with cream and black, it makes him look a little like and owl. Fergal's face, tummy the fronts of his ears and the underside of his tail are made from a very long and soft cream coloured mohair which has a cream backcloth. Fergal has coordinating paw pads made from brown German wool felt.
Fergal Findhorn has large, beautiful, painted glass eyes with hand coloured eyelids, the eyes are Austrian and are the last pair we have in this large size. We used to sell the eyes from the Brückner brothers who made them in their little factory in Kremsmünster, it was a great thrill when we visited them back in the 1990s and learned a little about the elaborate process of making perfect glass eyes for toys and taxidermy, these particular eyes are designed for buzzards and go very well with his 'owl-like' fur. Fergal has a carefully embroidered nose that incorporates all of his colours and a sweet, thoughtful smile. He is stuffed with plastic pellets and polyester stuffing making him a little more cuddly and loveable.
Fergal Findhorn is a wonderful, big, friendly bear whose long arms are made for cuddling, a bear who needs to hug and comfort. He's equally happy to sit though, just to be there at your side while you get on with life, he'll be there when you need him and he hopes you will be there when he needs his back scratching, an itchy, unscratched back is a terrible thing for a bear.
