Grizzly George Gruffletruffle is a wild and wonderful, one of a kind, artist teddy bear in gorgeous faux fur & mohair by Barbara-Ann Bears

Grizzly George Gruffletruffle is quite a large teddy bear, he stands 18 inches (46 cm) tall and is 14.5 inches (37 cm) sitting.

Grizzly George Gruffletruffle is a big, heavy bear with a very dignified and relaxed manner. A gentle bear always ready for a little (or a lot of) hugging. He is a bear of very subtle, soft colouring, like a forest in winter, you can see trees and snow, shadows and light, we think he's rather wonderful.

Grizzly George is mostly made from an interesting, dense faux fur of differing textures and colours, there is a pale grey with brown tipping, cream with brown tipping and an undercoat of darker grey and white, all together it's quite wolf-like, maybe he's a bear in wolf's clothing.

Grizzly George's face and the fronts of his ears are made from a very long and soft pale fawn coloured mohair which has a greyish brown backcloth, while his tummy and the underside of his tail are made from a long, dense and soft very, very pale grey faux fur which ties in very well with his other colouring. George has coordinating paw pads made from grey German wool felt.

I hadn't realised until recently that 'grizzly' derives from the French word 'gris' meaning 'grey', so George is grizzly because of his greyish colouring (not grisly because of his character, he's a big sweetie).

Grizzly George Gruffletruffle has large, beautiful, glass eyes with hand coloured eyelids, the eyes are made by a company specialising in eyes for taxidermists, these are 'buzzard' eyes and they suit him perfectly. George has a carefully embroidered nose that incorporates all of his colours and a sweet, thoughtful smile. He is stuffed with plastic pellets and polyester stuffing making him a little more cuddly and loveable.

Grizzly George Gruffletruffle is a wonderful, big, friendly bear whose long arms are made for cuddling, a bear who needs to hug and comfort. He's equally happy to sit though, just to be there at your side while you get on with life, he'll be there when you need him... Well, we should warn you that he loves to go out into the forests in the middle of winter gruffling about for truffles, it's in his name, but it might still come as something of a surprise if you were looking for him and couldn't find him.
