Little Rowena is a delightful, traditional, vintage artist teddy bear, in fabulous English mohair by Barbara Ann Bears

Little Rowena stands 13.5 inches/34cm tall and is 10.5 inches/26cm sitting.

Little Rowena is a beautiful traditional bear, a sweet and gentle bear with a warm and friendly personality, she's always ready for a hug. We made her a long, long time ago, our first bear, Guy, was a very traditional and straightforward bear, next we wanted to try making a centre seam bear like some of the early Steiff bears, but we made the head gusset a little too wide. This meant we couldn't put the eyes either side of the bridge of the nose, they would have been too far apart, so the eyes went on top of the nose, the broader snout also meant a broader nose and then a big smile. Rory was the first in this style, then a female version Rowena, then Robbie and then Little Rowena, who isn't really little at all, just smaller than Rowena. They were all very popular and we discovered not being traditional was the way to go. We think Little Rowena would have been made in 1991-1992.  

Little Rowena is made from a wonderful distressed English mohair (it was called Bumblewood Honey) and she has baby pink leather paw pads.

Little Rowena has spherical black glass eyes, a very impressive nose carefully embroidered in very pale pink thread and she has a sweet smile, giving her a content and gracious expression.

Little Rowena is stuffed entirely with polyester stuffing and as with all our bears she is 5-way jointed.

Little Rowena comes with one of our original swing tickets and sew in labels, and she is wearing a knitted pink cardigan and has a pink ribbon in her hair.

Little Rowena is a sweet and cuddly teddy bear, gracious and very friendly, at 35 year's old she's still a pleasure to live with and cuddle.
