Ludwyn Gumboots is an elderly wanderer, a veteran mohair artist bear from Barbara-Ann Bears
Ludwyn Gumboots stands 16.5 inches (42cm) tall and is 11.5 inches (29cm) sitting.
Ludwyn Gumboots is a bear of the 1990s, a bear from our transition from the traditional into the wild and wonderful world of Barbara-Ann Bears. He's a very relaxed and cool guy, he's had a life of wandering over moor and dale (actually sitting on a shelf) and now wants a change of scenery, a new life with gentle, kind folk who know how to make an old bear happy.
Ludwyn Gumboots was mostly made from wildly distressed shimmering beige German mohair, it has a real sheen to it, while his feet and the top of his head were made from a fairly long and dense chestnut coloured mohair. We thought that was quite adventurous at the time, it makes him that little bit different, together with his languid design, it adds to Ludwyn's rugged, slightly dishevelled charm. He has beige, German wool felt paw pads, amber translucent glass eyes (proper teddy bear eyes) and an impressive nose meticulously embroidered from two types of wool. Ludwyn Gumboots is almost entirely stuffed with polyester stuffing, although his tummy is filled with plastic pellets which add a little extra cuddleability.
Ludwyn Gumboots is a great bear, he's a little reserved you could even say gruff, he loves a cuddle but might say something like "cuddle me if you must but don't make a habit if it". He's an old bear, he doesn't want too much attention, just a seat with a nice view, tea and cakes, a warm bed, more tea and cakes and someone to talk to every now and then.
We'll pop in some photos with Ludwyn Gumboots and we are happy to put in a greetings card and gift tags, maybe a birthday card or one for another occasion, you can choose one from our greetings card page and let us know which card you would like.
As with all our bears Ludwyn Gumboots is not a toy, he is an adult collectible and unsuitable for children under 14.
