Marylou, a happy and very lovable hippy bear, a one of a kind, mohair, artist bear by Barbara-Ann Bears

Marylou stands 13.5 inches(34 cm) tall and is 9.5 inches ( 24 cm) sitting.

Marylou is a very sweet bear, a bear full of love who dreams of a world of peace and flower-powered revelry. She's one of our older bears, from the late 1990s when we made several hippies, punks and bikers, slightly rebellious characters who were still proper loving, hugging teddy bears. Marylou is a bear from a time long gone, when tales were told around camp fires, when conversations lasted until daybreak and nobody looked at their phone while you were talking to them.

Marylou is mainly made from a medium length, slightly wavy pale beige mohair, while the top of her head and the backs of her ears are a much longer, twirly strawberry-blond mohair. Marylou has beige wool-felt paw pads which match her mohair perfectly.

Marylou has beautiful amber glass eyes, a splendid nose embroidered from individual threads to match her colouring and a sweet smile. Marylou is stuffed quite firmly with polyester stuffing, she's still a relaxed bear, not at all stiff. As with all our bears Marylou is 5-way jointed.

As you can see from the photo Marylou has quite a few accoutrements, she has a long sleeveless tasselled jacket made from a rust and coffee coloured lightweight synthetic velour dress fabric which has a very subtle floral design, a multi-coloured friendship bracelet is her headband, a small pink and green floral nose piercing. several necklaces made from small multi-coloured beads, a small choker with a circular multi-coloured bead at its centre and a longer choker with a Rastafarian design at its centre. Marylou was made to brighten your day, to bring a smile to your face come what may. She's not a wild, reckless thing, maybe she was in her past, you can talk to her about that, now she needs somewhere quiet to sit and rest, you might find her humming a Mamas and Papas tune or whistling something by Bob Marley occasionally, then you'll know that she's truly happy.
