Spooky Lucas has been reserved, he is very friendly, if fiendishly spooky, one of a kind artist cat in hand-dyed silk, viscose and faux fur by Barbara Ann Bears
Spooky Lucas stands 12.5 inches( 31 cm) tall and is 11 inches (27 cm) sitting, his curly tail would be about 13 inches (33 cm) long if it could be straightened out, but it's always going to be a curly tail, it was cut and sewn that way.
Spooky Lucas is a rather sweet if rather unconventional cat, he loves Halloween but he says that a cat is for all year round and not just for Halloween, he's happy to curl up with you all year long. He has a little mouse (a cat toy mouse) called Nigel, which he is very fond of, he would never harm it as it's his best friend. As you can see he likes to sit on pumpkins, he finds that they go very well with his colouring and give him a better view of any dogs or ghouls that might be in the area.
Spooky Lucas is made from several different pieces of fabric, he's mostly made from a very long, soft and fluffy black faux fur from which sprouts of longer faux fur in yellow, pink, orange and lilac emerge, like fireworks against the night sky. The top of his face and his tummy are made from a fairly long and soft Japanese silk that Barbara has hand dyed in orange and pink. Spooky Lucas's tail, inner ears and footpads are made from a printed velvet which has an abstract pattern in black against a background of orange, gold, turquoise, purple and green. The sides of his head and the backs of his ears are a very short black mohair and the sides of his snout are a very long and wispy black mohair.
Spooky Lucas has large, beautiful, glass cats' eyes (with oval pupils) with hand coloured eyelids, an impressive nose embroidered from individual threads to match his colouring and a beaming smile, he is stuffed with plastic pellets and polyester stuffing to make him a little heavier and more cuddly. His tail has a bendy tubular 'thing' inside it which means that you can change its shape a little. His little mouse (Nigel) is a cat toy bought from a shop, it is made from black cotton with pink ears and is covered in sequins, quite glamorous for a mouse.
The pumpkins, gourds and our cat Harry are only shown as props and are not for sale, especially Harry.
Spooky Lucas is a wild and wonderful arty cat with a very sweet and mischievous personality. He loves to have fun as well as loving to sit beside someone while they read a spooky book or watch a ghost story on TV, only occasionally trying to frighten the bejeebus out of you.
