Wilfred is a very sweet and friendly artist teddy bear in gorgeous mohair by Barbara Ann Bears

Wilfred is 12 inches/30 cm tall and is 8.5 inches/21 cm sitting.

Wilfred is a wonderful traditional teddy bear, he has a very calm and sweet demeanour, he will never want to cause a fuss, he'll just sit quietly hoping that you will notice him and maybe give him an occasional glance and even a cuddle once in a while. He is one of our older bears, he's like a time capsule back to the early 1990s, before our bears were quite so colourful and extravagant. Wilfred was the first of our bears to have a beard, we were about to trim it off but thought it rather suited him, and from then on we have made many bearded bears.

Wilfred is made from a wonderful antique gold mohair, it is a medium length, and a little fluffy and distressed, it's not a type of mohair that is made anymore which makes him just that little bit extra special. Wilfred has brown wool felt paw pads and gorgeous amber glass eyes. Wilfred has a splendid, carefully embroidered brown nose and a relaxed and demure expression.

Wilfred is stuffed quite firmly with polyester polyester stuffing with some plastic pellets in his tummy that give him a little extra weight and cuddlability. As with all our bears he is 5-way jointed.

Wilfred still has original swing ticket and sew in label with our first logo.

Wilfred is a very sweet and very friendly bear, a bear who needs lots of love and affection, he's an elderly chap and just wants a quiet seat where he can see what's going on and occasionally have a brief cuddle.  We hope you like him.

I (Andy) took Wilfred to Monreith beach while Barbara was having her hair cut and coloured (orange and yellow this time), it's a lovely quiet beach with lots of wild flowers on the headland, we enjoyed our time there.
