Zanzibar is a magnificent, richly colourful one of a kind, artist teddy bear in fabulous faux fur & gorgeous mohair by Barbara-Ann Bears

Zanzibar stands 20 inches (51 cm) tall and is 16 inches (41 cm) sitting, yes, he's quite a big teddy bear!

Zanzibar is a fabulous teddy bear, a big colourful chap with a rather hopeful expression. He's a bear who struggles with the complexities of life, he sometimes needs a little help, he might need you to unscrew the lid of the jar of honey, then spread the butter on the bread and then the honey and then put it all together as a sandwich, however he is perfectly capable of eating it all by himself. He's a bear who just wants to be picked up and hugged, he says "that's what teddy bears are for" and who could argue with him?

Zanzibar is mostly made from a very exciting faux fur, although it's just one piece of fabric it looks like a patchwork, there's fuchsia pink, some of which is tipped with gold and in other places black, cream tipped with gold, dark grey tipped with cream and in other places gold and a few patches of solid black, it's a very interesting fabric, we marvel at how they make it. His face and the underside of his tail are a very long and fluffy white mohair and the fronts of his ears are made from a very long and shaggy black mohair. Zanzibar has coordinating magenta velvet paw pads. It might sound quite complicated but looking at the pictures you can see that the colours and fabrics go together very well.

Zanzibar has large, beautiful, glass eyes with eyelids which were painted to match his colouring. He has a carefully embroidered nose that incorporates all of his colours and a broad, cheerful smile. He is stuffed with plastic pellets and polyester stuffing making him a little more cuddly and loveable. He's a very happy, friendly and cuddly bear, quite heavy too.

Zanzibar is a magnificent bear, a bear with a deep, soulful personality, a bear you can talk to and know that he is listening. He has a wonderful presence, he seems to say 'come over and hug me' and that might be something you find hard to resist.
