Slim Tim Tittlemouse is a scruffy and dishevelled traditional one of a kind artist bear in German mohair by Barbara Ann Bears
Slim Tim Tittlemouse is 11 inches/28 cm tall and is 7.5 inches/22 cm sitting.
Slim Tim Tittlemouse is a tribute to Little Tommy Tittlemouse who sits in the V&A Museum in London, although Slim Tim is twice the size of Little Tommy. He's been made to look very old and well loved, he might look grubby but he's a clean bear, he's just been rubbed with a soft sketching pencil.
Slim Tim Tittlemouse is made from beautiful beige German mohair that Barbara has shaved to stubble in places, the same mohair was used for his paws as well, shaved down to a short stubble. After he was sewn and stuffed he was rubbed with a soft sketching pencil along the edges of his ears, the top of his head, some of his tummy, the tops of his arms and legs, all the places a child might hold a teddy with their dirty hands. He has some rough brown stitches on his back mimicking a 'mummy repair'. Tim has partly sewn claws on his hands and feet and a partly sewn nose, all have dangling threads as if a child had played with him for so long that he had started to become unthreaded. Slim Tim Tittlemouse has very old boot buttons for his eyes and is stuffed with polyester stuffing and glass beads to make hi quite saggy, his joints are a little loose making him a floppy bear. He can stand, but not outside, near the sea, in Scotland, when a gale is blowing, which is why there isn't a photo.
Slim Tim Tittlemouse is a sweet bear, he looks like he needs a lot of love and affection, even restoration, but he was made to look old and lovable so please don't restore him.
We'll pop in some photos with Slim Tim Tittlemouse and we are happy to put in a greetings card and gift tags, maybe a birthday card or one for another occasion, you can choose one from our greetings card page and let us know which card you would like.
As with all our bears, Slim Tim Tittlemouse is not a toy, he is an adult collectible and unsuitable for children under 14.
