Eustace is a very lovable and sweet, one of a kind, traditional artist teddy bear made from gorgeous vintage mohair by Barbara-Ann Bears
Eustace stands 8.5 inches (21 cm) tall and is 6 inches (15 cm) sitting.
Eustace is a sweet little bear, an elegant old fashioned teddy bear with classical lines. He's no stick in the mud though, he loves company, to laugh and to smile, he has bundles of personality. A gentle bear packed full of love.
Eustace is made from a a piece of beige vintage German mohair, while we can't put an exact date on the mohair we know that it would have been made sometime between 1870 and 1930 as an upholstery fabric , maybe for a chair or cushion. The mohair is quite worn in places which hint's at it's age and authenticity. The mohair is beige with a very faint design in pink thread, it's not clear what the design might have been but it's a happy reminder of the material's previous life. His paw pads were made from the same mohair but reversed, so the colours match perfectly. He has small black boot buttons for eyes which add to his old world charm, Eustace has a small carefully embroidered nose and an engaging smile. Eustace is stuffed with glass beads and polyester stuffing making him a little more cuddly and loveable.
Eustace is a wonderful little bear, gentle, full of cuddles and happiness, and dare we say, rather handsome too.
We checked the meaning of Eustace, it comes from either of two Greek names, one meaning 'having an abundance of wheat' and the other 'possessing great stability', he doesn't have any wheat...
