Grunyan is a very happy and beautifully coloured teddy bear, a one of a kind, hand dyed mohair artist bear by Barbara-Ann Bears
Grunyan stands 9.5 inches (24 cm) tall and is 7.5 inches ( 19 cm) sitting.
Grunyan is a mixture of beautiful natural colours, the colours of a cool, dark forest where the elk and the bears roam. Grunyan sees himself as a forest bear, a bear who loves to climb trees and hunt squirrels, leaping from bough to bough like some kind of ursine Tarzan, sadly Grunyan doesn't really like heights, he's much more at home on a sofa with a cup of tea, a good selection of cakes all followed up with some wholesome hugging, he's definitely a teddy bear at heart.
Grunyan is nearly entirely made from one piece of beautiful hand dyed mohair, in fact he was inspired by the mohair and designed to fit it. It's a quite dense and long, straight pile mohair that Barbara has dyed in beautiful shades of green and copper, like the moment when the leaves on some trees have turned to their beautiful autumnal shades while others remain green, making the last use of the daylight before the frosts set in. Unfortunately owing to a 'small miscalculation in the design department' there just wasn't quite enough mohair to make both sides of his ears and tail so he the fronts of his ears and the underside of his tail are made from a very long and fluffy brown mohair. Grunyan loves his fluffy ears, he says they help him hear the song of distant nightingales...and the gentle sound of a large cake being sliced into (generously sized) pieces. As you can see Grunyan has hand dyed velvet paw pads which blend with his mohair perfectly.
Grunyan has beautiful, hand painted eyes with hand coloured eyelids, a splendid nose embroidered from individual threads to complement his colouring and he has a sweet, friendly smile. Grunyan is stuffed with polyester stuffing, plastic pellets and glass beads which give him a little extra weight and make him a little more cuddly.
Grunyan is a happy and sweet teddy bear, a beautifully coloured, handsome and playful young chap who just needs a hug and a slice of cake to make his life complete.
