Robin is a large, traditional one of a kind, artist teddy bear in honey gold vintage mohair by Barbara Ann Bears with an Edwardian collar
Robin is quite a large bear, he's 21 inches (53 cm) tall and is 15 inches (39 cm) sitting.
Robin is a wonderful, friendly traditional teddy bear. He has an aura of calm and serenity, he's completely unflappable, in any crisis he'll just sit and watch everyone rushing around him, of course that's what all teddy bears do, waiting for everything to calm down and it's time for a good hugging.
Robin is made from a beautiful vintage mohair car rug, we think it dates back to the 1920s or 30s when cars were cold and unreliable and you needed a warm rug to keep warm on a long journey and particularly in case the car broke down. Sadly we don't know anything about it, it's previous owners, the type of car it was used in or any of the adventures it survived, but all the history and experiences of the mohair are wrapped into Robin's being and live on through him. Robin has beige wool felt paw pads which blend with his mohair perfectly. Robin has large beguiling black boot buttons for eyes, a splendid, carefully embroidered brown nose and a relaxed and demure expression.
Robin is stuffed with a mixture of polyester stuffing and plastic pellets, giving him a cuddly and relaxed demeanour, comfortable and easy to pose and hug. As with all our bears he is 5-way jointed.
Robin comes with an Edwardian style shirt collar which is closed with a metal stud and can be removed easily by your valet.
Robin is a charming and very friendly bear, he's definitely a bear who loves his food, particularly cakes and cream scones all washed down with the best tea in the best china crockery, or a mug! We hope you like him.
We'll pop in some photos with Robin and we are happy to put in a greetings card and gift tags, maybe a birthday card or one for another occasion, you can choose one from our greetings card page and let us know which card you would like.
As with all our bears, Robin is not a toy, he is an adult collectible and unsuitable for children under 14.
