Zoiks! is a rather colourful and comical one of a kind artist bear in beautiful, fluffy hand dyed mohair and faux fur by Barbara Ann Bears
Zoiks! stands 10.5 inches( 33 cm) tall and is 8 inches (20 cm) sitting, this doesn't include his plumes of hair which add another 3 inches/ 7.5cm.
Zoiks! is an exuberant and very colourful chap, as you can see he's not very serious or sensible, he was designed to put a smile on your face or even make you laugh. There are days when you need a big happy face and a splash of bold colours just to wake fully you up in the morning and start the day with a smile. Although Zoiks! will sit quietly at your side you can tell that he is always trying to catch your attention shouting 'WoooHooo!' with his bright, cheerful colours.
Zoiks! is made almost entirely from one piece of long fluffy fabric, Barbara drew out the pattern, cut out the pieces, grouped them in separate groups and placed each group of pieces in dye together. There are six colours altogether, candyfloss pink, a soft orange, a zingy green, a deep violet, sky blue and a sunny, lemony yellow, you can see where all the individual colours are by looking at the photos, a description would be too confusing (for you and me). Barbara tries very hard not to get two colours together, a bit like someone colouring in a map of the world, so what looks quite haphazard is in fact carefully planned and the cause of much brain-ache. The only part of him that isn't made from the patchwork of mohair is the top of his head which is a big, fluffy plume of yellow, pink and black faux fur.
Zoiks! has paw pads made from strong cotton fabric (which are backed with felt for extra strength), each paw has a different design, just to make him a little more interesting.
Zoiks! has big, beautiful, sparkling, hand painted glass eyes, a wonderful nose embroidered from individual threads to match his colouring and a ginormous smile, he is stuffed with plastic pellets and polyester stuffing to make him a little heavier and more cuddly.
Zoiks! is a wild, sparkling, happy and exuberant bear, he's not your traditional brown bear who sits unobtrusively on a shelf and gets noticed once in a blue moon, he's a bear who is determined to make you happy and (if he could) would jump up and down until you have a big smile on your face.#
