Bernard McFluff (number 2) is one of our very old bears, he's a sweet and cuddly, traditional teddy bear made from gorgeous English mohair by Barbara Ann Bears

Bernard McFluff is a very old bear, he was one of our first designs and was made in October 1992 for Penny, as it says on the label. We rarely know what happens to our teddy bears once they leave us, most are kept forever and we never see them again, but a few come back to us to look for new homes and Bernard McFluff is one of those. He was one of our first bears with a long snout and a big tummy, a break from the classical teddy and a step into the realm of fun and whimsy from which we have never returned.
Bernard McFluff was very popular at the time, the teddy bear world had seen nothing quite like him, we made him in several different mohairs although there weren't many brown Bernard McFluffs. He was made back in the early days when we were young, fit and beautiful, when one of us had brown hair and the other had hair...where did it all go?
Bernard McFluff is made from a beautiful, distressed, shaggy, soft brown English mohair, we used to love using English mohair, it had such a strong texture, it was made using looms dating back to the early 1900s, since the birth of the teddy bear, sadly the mill that wove the mohair closed long ago and 'they don't make it like that anymore' . Bernard has beige, German wool felt paw pads and black, glass, spherical eyes, these catch the light from any angle so he always has a cheeky twinkle in his eye. Bernard McFluff has a neatly sewn nose and a sweet smile.
Bernard McFluff is mostly stuffed with polyester stuffing, he has plastic pellets in his tummy which make him a little heavier and slightly more cuddly. Bernard McFluff, as with all our bears he is 5-way jointed.
We hope you like Bernard McFluff, he looks like he needs a good cuddle, he seems a little lost and forlorn at the moment. He's one of our originals, a bear from the last millennium, from the days before personal computers, iPhones and Facebook, a simple bear from simpler times, we hope you like him.
Bernard McFluff comes with his original swing ticket with our first logo, we used an ink pad and stamp back in those days, a long time before we had a computer and could print the swing tickets ourselves , it shows a little wear but is in very good condition, he also comes with a modern swing ticket with our current contact information.

As with all our bears Bernard McFluff is not a toy, he is an adult collectible and unsuitable for children under 14.
