Puccini is a magnificent, charming and elegant, one of a kind, artist bear by Barbara-Ann Bears in luxurious faux fur and fluffy mohair

Puccini is quite a large teddy bear, he's 20 inches (51 cm) tall from his toes to his head and is 14.5 inches(37 cm) sitting from his bottom to his head, he has flexible knees and bent legs so he can't stand up, he just sits rather elegantly.

Puccini is a very handsome bear, with his dashing good looks and aristocratic and artistic bearing, he's a bear who could almost make you swoon and fall into his arms. He is a flamboyant and elegant bear, and unlike our other bears, with his bendy legs, allowing him to sit comfortably in a number of positions, and a separate, slightly wedge-shaped, jointed neck which means he can look slightly up or down (and straight ahead and sideways of course)... you can have hours of fun posing him. He is one of older designs, dating back to the mid-1990s, he was quite a change in direction and ambition for us. We don't make many bears like him nowadays, he is our most complicated patterns and takes a long time to make, but the results are always impressive.

Puccini is made from the most gorgeous and luxurious faux fur and mohair, mainly a long, soft and fluffy faux fur which is a soft beige with black tipping while his face, the fronts of his ears, his chest, feet, hands and the underside of his tail are a very, very long and fluffy blond mohair. Puccini's beige wool felt pads complement his mohair perfectly.

Puccini has large, beautiful hand painted glass eyes with hand coloured eyelids, a wonderfully embroidered nose, sewn from individual threads to match his mohair and a rather reflective expression. He is stuffed with plastic pellets and polyester stuffing to make him more flexible, a little heavier and more cuddly.

Puccini is a very impressive bear, he has a calm presence and a gracious character, he is the sort of bear you can talk to on any subject and although you are unlikely to get a reply you will certainly feel that he has been listening and is mulling over what you said. You can see from the photos that by changing the angle of his head he can look charming and attentive, or deep in thought or even a little sorrowful, as if he needs a hug, like all teddy bears he needs a hug every now and then, he's not too elegant for that.
